About bridge
The same routing engine as the swap tool, across chains instead of within one. Bridges are historically the most exploited part of crypto, so the route matters more here than the last basis point: the tool named in the route is the thing you are actually trusting with the money in transit. Cross-chain transfers settle on the far side after the source transaction confirms, which can take anywhere from seconds to several minutes — funds in flight are not funds lost. When the origin chain is Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche or Unichain, the origin network fee can be paid in USDC through Circle Paymaster; any destination-network fee stays separate and is never claimed as covered.
Common questions
What is a crypto bridge?
A bridge moves a token from one chain to another, since a balance on Ethereum does not exist on Base until something carries it there. Most bridges do this by locking the asset on the source chain and issuing or releasing it on the destination.
How long does bridging take?
Anywhere from under a minute to several hours, depending on the route and the two chains. The estimate is shown with each quote here before you sign, and once the source-chain leg has mined this page keeps checking the far side and says where the transfer actually got to — closing the tab does not stop it.
Can I pay the network fee in USDC when I bridge?
Only the origin-chain network fee, and only when that from-chain is Base, Arbitrum, Optimism, Ethereum, Polygon, Avalanche or Unichain. Destination-network fees stay separate and are never claimed as covered by USDC mode. Unsupported from-chains keep the native-coin path with no fake toggle. Site fee is always 0; Circle's surcharge is 10% on Base/Arbitrum and 0% on the other five supported origins.
Is bridging crypto safe?
Bridges have been the single largest category of loss in crypto, with several individual bridge exploits exceeding $100 million. Nothing here can change that, because the risk lives in the bridge contract rather than in the interface calling it. What this page does is show every route so the choice of which bridge to trust is visible rather than made for you.
