About bitcoin fees
A Bitcoin fee is a rate in satoshis per virtual byte multiplied by the size of your transaction, so a quoted rate on its own tells you nothing about what you will pay. Size depends on the type of address you are spending from and on how many separate unspent outputs your wallet has to gather: a legacy 1… input is 148 vbytes against 68 for a bc1q… one, which is the entire reason segwit exists. Taproot inputs are smaller again at 57.5, but taproot outputs are larger, so a simple one-input payment is not cheaper — taproot wins once you are spending many inputs at once. Note what is absent from all of this: the amount. Moving a thousand satoshis and moving a whole coin cost exactly the same, because Bitcoin charges for block space rather than for value.
