About vanity address
A vanity address is found by generating keys at random until one starts or ends with the characters you want. Each additional character multiplies the work by sixteen, so four is quick, five is slow, and six is impractical in a browser tab. Everything here happens locally using the operating system's secure random generator, and the key is never transmitted. The cautionary tale is Profanity, a popular desktop generator whose randomness was weak enough that every address it produced could be reverse-engineered — millions were drained from wallets that appeared entirely safe.
