About tax estimator

Capital gains tax is charged on the difference between what you sold for and what you paid, including fees. That is the whole calculation here, and it is deliberately simple: one disposal, one rate. Real crypto tax is not simple — holding period changes the rate in most jurisdictions, which specific lot you are deemed to have sold changes the basis, and staking rewards, LP positions, bridges and airdrops each have their own treatment. This sizes the bill. It does not produce a filing.

Common questions

What does this crypto tax estimator calculate?

A single-disposal capital gains sketch from proceeds minus cost basis, using rates you enter. It is not a filing, not country-complete, and not a substitute for rules that depend on holding period, wash sales or local law.

Why is this not a tax report?

Because real filings need full history, jurisdiction-specific lots, and often imported exchange records. This page sizes one disposal so the arithmetic is visible; the tax-export CSV is the handoff to software that claims to file.

Does ihategas give tax advice?

No. The site shows numbers from inputs you provide. Nothing here is advice to sell, hold, or choose a cost-basis method — those decisions and their legal consequences stay with you and a qualified professional when you need one.
