About protocol metrics
Total value locked across DeFi, ranked, with 24-hour and 7-day change beside it. TVL is the number the industry quotes most and understands least: it measures deposits, which makes it a popularity signal rather than a safety one. Every protocol that has ever been drained was at or near its TVL peak the day it happened. The market-cap-to-TVL ratio is the more interesting column, showing how a protocol's token is priced against the value it actually holds.
