About onchain profile
The profile records attached to an ENS name: avatar, bio, website, social handles. Worth being clear about what this is — every field was written by whoever controls the name, so a linked social account is a claim rather than a verification. Anyone can put any handle in a text record.
Common questions
What is an ENS onchain profile?
Text records and avatar metadata attached to an ENS name — bio, URL, social handles — written by whoever controls that name. This page displays those claims; it does not verify that a Twitter handle truly belongs to the same human.
Can profile records be faked?
They can be set to anything the name controller wants, including impersonation. Treat records as self-attested. For payments, resolve the address and verify it through a channel you already trust.
Does viewing a profile reveal my address to ihategas?
The lookup runs from your browser to public ENS-capable endpoints. We do not require login. As with other reads, the RPC operator sees your IP and the name you queried — details also listed in Privacy.
